It offers a complete range of administrative, technical and financial services to lighten their administrative burden and allow them to focus on educational priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CGTSIM is primarily recognized for managing the school tax that is sent annually to Montr\u00e9al taxpayers. This tax is essential for funding the school network, including maintenance of equipment, management of facilities, and headquarters expenses. Additionally, it covers approximately half of the costs associated to school transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to collecting the school tax on behalf of the SSC\/SB, the CGTSIM takes pride in redistributing additional revenues generated from the investments of this tax and others. These additional revenues are specifically allocated to education catch-up measures in desadvantaged areas. This extra allocation of resources is crucial for ensuring equal opportunities for school success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of a kind public organization in Qu\u00e9bec and under the jurisdiction of the Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019\u00c9ducation, the CGTSIM has the following roles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Collecting the school tax on the Island of Montr\u00e9al<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing the treasury of the SSC\/SB on the Island of Montr\u00e9al<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing the Risk Management Plan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing the Cooperative Purchasing System<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Producing documents, statistics, and reference tools for desadvantaged areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distributing financial surplus to the SSC\/SB on the Island of Montr\u00e9al<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The CGTSIM is a public organization governed by the&nbsp;<em>Education Act.&nbsp;<\/em>It supports the five SSC\/SB on the island of Montr\u00e9al:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/csdm.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Centre de services scolaire de Montr\u00e9al<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cspi.qc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Centre de services scolaire de la Pointe-de-l\u2019\u00cele<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.csmb.qc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Centre de services scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.emsb.qc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">English Montreal School Board<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lbpsb.qc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lester B. Pearson School Board<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In December 2023, Bill 23 was adopted, expanding the scope of the CGTSIM authority to all SSC\/SB located outside the Island of Montr\u00e9al. Therefore, the CGTSIM can now offer services to any SSC\/SB in the province with which it enters into an agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"back-top-block theme-block aligndefault\">\n      <div id=\"values\" class=\"back-top-anchor\"><\/div>\n    <a class=\"back-top-button\" href=\"#main-content\">\n    <span>Back to top<\/span>\n  <\/a>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mission, vision and values<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The CGTSIM offers services that require unique expertise. Among these services are school tax management, treasury management, cooperative purchasing, and the self-insurance fund management. These services free up the school service centres and school boards (SSC\/SB) from administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on educational challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CGTSIM is responsible of collecting the school tax on the Island of Montr\u00e9al, redistributing it to the SSC\/SB, as well as allocate financial surplus. It thus contributes to the collective effort aimed at ensuring that children in desadvantaged areas have the necessary support for school success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-primary-color\"><strong>Its MISSION can be summarized as follow:<\/strong><br><strong>Providing unique expertise and contributing to the collective effort for school success.<\/strong><\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-primary-color\">_______________________________________________________________________________<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CGTSIM aims to improve its service offering by achieving operational excellence. It also strives to improve its interaction with customers in the community and become a user-friendly service counter through its expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the CGTSIM wants to solidify its culture and improve its HR management to enhance employee experience and attract new talents.
