Through your financial institution; at the ATM, counter or online:<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Allow about four days for the electronic transfer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For payments at the ATM or counter: insert or hand over the detachable coupon attached to your school tax bill.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For online payments:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to your financial institution\u2019s app or website. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add or select the following organization name: <strong>Taxe scolaire de l&#8217;\u00eele de Montr\u00e9al (CGTSIM)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proceed with the payment by entering the <strong>20-digit reference number <\/strong>for electronic payment, which appears on your school tax bill.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-primary-color\"><strong>2. By mail:<\/strong><\/mark><br><br>Please send your cheque to the following address: <strong>P.O. For anyone other than property owners, there are formalities to complete in order to access accounts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To grant a power of attorney to a designated person, you must complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgtsim.wp.vortexdev.com\/en\/power-of-attorney\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1148\">Power of attorney form<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To revoke a power of attorney to a person, you must complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgtsim.wp.vortexdev.com\/en\/revocation-of-power-of-attorney\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cgtsim.wp.vortexdev.com\/en\/revocation-of-power-of-attorney\/\">Revocation of power of attorney form<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"back-top-block theme-block aligndefault\">\n      <div id=\"change-of-mailing-address\" class=\"back-top-anchor\"><\/div>\n    <a class=\"back-top-button\" href=\"#main-content\">\n    <span>Back to top<\/span>\n  <\/a>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change of mailing address<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The property owner or an authorized representative can make this request by mail or by email by completing the form:  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgtsim.wp.vortexdev.com\/en\/request-change-mailing-address\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1144\">Request for change of mailing address<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"back-top-block theme-block aligndefault\">\n      <div id=\"change-of-ownership\" class=\"back-top-anchor\"><\/div>\n    <a class=\"back-top-button\" href=\"#main-content\">\n    <span>Back to top<\/span>\n  <\/a>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change of ownership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The CGTSIM receives, from all municipalities, a copy of the assessment certificate confirming property transactions. The certificate indicates the name and contact details of the new owner. The certificate is issued after publication of the transaction at the Land Registry Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There may be a delay of several weeks or even months between the date of the transaction and receipt of the certificate. It is the taxpayer&#8217;s responsibility to ensure that the CGTSIM has its contact information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new property owner must ensure that school taxes are included in the adjustments prepared by the notary at the time of the property transfer transaction. The CGSTIM is not responsible for making those adjustments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CGTSIM does not issue a new school tax statement when there is a change of ownership. However, it is possible to obtain an online copy of the property&#8217;s tax statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"back-top-block theme-block aligndefault\">\n      <div id=\"refunds\" class=\"back-top-anchor\"><\/div>\n    <a class=\"back-top-button\" href=\"#main-content\">\n    <span>Back to top<\/span>\n  <\/a>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Refunds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Refunds due to negative certificates or decisions made by the Tribunal administratif du Qu\u00e9bec are issued once the certificates have been received from the municipal evaluators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Refunds due to overpayments are issued at the owner\u2019s request or following a review of the credit balance. The service charge for issuing a refund for overpayment is $25. Unless an immediate refund is requested by the owner, credit balances of less than $325 are carried forward to the next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"back-top-block theme-block aligndefault\">\n      <div id=\"payment\" class=\"back-top-anchor\"><\/div>\n    <a class=\"back-top-button\" href=\"#main-content\">\n    <span>Back to top<\/span>\n  <\/a>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Payment transfer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A $15 fee will be charged when a school tax payment is made to the wrong account by a homeowner: a statement of account will be issued following the transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"back-top-block theme-block aligndefault\">\n      <div id=\"reminder-notices\" class=\"back-top-anchor\"><\/div>\n    <a class=\"back-top-button\" href=\"#main-content\">\n    <span>Back to top<\/span>\n  <\/a>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reminder notices and debt recovery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Interest is charged on all late or insufficient instalment payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A $25 service charge is added for every returned cheque (NSF, stop payment, frozen account, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CGTSIM periodically mails out reminder notices indicating balances due.
